**Veterans Day 2015** Remember all who served, past and present!

** This blog published Mondays and Wednesdays **

I spy with my little eye: Big and Little Round Top (left), the back of the New York Officers’ memorial; an artillery battery, a large swath of Cemetery Ridge where Gen. Caldwell’s Division rested before being sent to the Wheatfield, the 1ST Minnesota Infantry monument, and, last but not least, the much-needed restrooms beside the Pennsylvania Memorial :-)

**HONORED TODAY**

PVT. CHARLES W. BURRESS/BURRUSS
Co. G, 24TH Virginia Infantry

Born 1835 --- Died August 03, 1863 at age 28

Pvt. Burress (spelling differs) enlisted in June 1861 and later as a regimental postmaster for a time. He was mortally wounded at Gettysburg by a shot to the left leg, and lingered at Camp Letterman for a month. He was later buried at Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond.
